MINI BLINDS for your Home

Think your windows need a facelift, but aren't sure where to start? How about decorating them with miniblinds instead of heavy drapes? These blinds can bring you the privacy you need without adding a lot of work or expense to the project.

We have several discussions on vinyl mini blinds, faux wood mini blinds, aluminum blinds and discount mini blinds. Depending on your particular tastes, at least one or all of them should bring you valuable information on your chosen style.

Most people know exactly what these are, and unfortunately they don't have the best reputation as being a high quality window covering. Despite their reputation as a lower class blind, there are some very high quality options available today.

I remember my first experience with cleaning my blinds. Wow. We have moved into a new rental house and they hadn't cleaned anything in months. I found that filling a bathtub with water and a strong cleaning agent worked create for cleaning those shades. It took several layers of grime off their slats and they turned out to be pretty nice blinds.

What are the various types of blinds available?

Horizontal, vertical blinds and fabric blinds. Horizontal mini blinds come in vinyl, wood, faux wood alloys and aluminum. Many are dust repellent and durable.

What is the best choice of blinds for a bathroom?

Since they'll be in a high humid environment and will potentially get direct sprays of water you'll want something that can withstand the additional moisture. Vinyl blinds or faux wood blinds are your best option.

Are there any options that are more difficult to clean?

Anything with a rough surface, including those that are textured or sand blasted will be much harder to clean as their indentations and bumpy surfaces will gather dust and collect grime. A flat smooth surface is the easiest mini blind to clean.

Does the number of slats matter?

The more slats it has the more light it blocks.

Which blinds are the least expensive? Most expensive?

The range of cost would be vinyl as the cheapest, then metal, then real wood, and faux wood as the most expensive.

What if I want something more extravagant like fabric blinds? Are those available?
